Lidia Smolarek-Best, Polish born, designer behind Best Couture has started her passion for fashion at the age of 12. Since leaving college has worked with fashion companies in Poland, gaining experience as a workroom manager.

Soon, Lidia found herself in London working with well-known houses such as Tomasz Starzewski, Catherine Walker, Whistles and Roubi L’ Roubi.

After 15 years of gaining experience she decided to follow her lifetime dream of having her own fashion studio. Her restless spirit is now channelled to her bridal studio in Ealing, which opened in March 2002 and has proven hugely successful.

The Best Couture collection is classic and elegant while keeping pulse on fast changing fashion trends with the use of the fines fabrics.

Despite her now very busy schedule, she still insists on seeing client’s final fittings to ensure her trademark quality has been followed.

Aside fashion, Lidia has worked in charity with the Deaf association when in Poland and found it immensely rewarding. In recognition for her work she was voted to head the Youth Division of the association. She quickly realized the potential of international links with Europe and took the organisation to new levels culminating in organizing International Summer Camp in South Poland in July 1991.

Her position was at a national and international height when Lidia decided to quit and dedicate herself to her main passion, fashion.
